infoshop: forums
updated: 2008/9/5

There are a bunch of online communities across diverse platforms, which is awesome if you're looking for a group of fellow zine lovers in your area or if you prefer a social networking site over a simple email listserv.

If you have additions, corrections, or updates to this information, please send them to infoshop@crabbymedia.org.

Crabby Media
http://www.crabbymedia.org/cm-forum.html
Um, ours. We try to keep it pretty general.

Paper Heart
http://photocopyheart.proboards79.com/
A general zine community with lots of forums on zine-related topics.

Zineplosion
http://zineplosion.yuku.com/
A general community for zine-makers and readers. Administrated by Erin ("Driving Blind"), this board was started in 2005 as the (infamous) Pander Zine Distro and its message board was closing down. You must be registered to view anything on the Zineplosion board.

PDX Zines
http://community.livejournal.com/pdxzines/
A community for zines and zine-makers in the Portland (Oregon, U.S.A.) area.

Stolen Sharpie
http://community.livejournal.com/stolensharpie/
A community maintained by Alex Wrekk ("Stolen Sharpie Revolution"). From the community profile page: "This is a community, not a scene. This is a place to share DIY zine related ideas and support each other’s DIY projects. This is not about hierarchies or competition. This is about helping each other create and share art."

Zine Scene
http://community.livejournal.com/zine_scene/
General zine community. Announcements of new zines predominate.

> Yahoo groups/listservs
Zinesters
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zinesters/
General zine discussion group. Fairly low-traffic in recent years.
