So when you register, here's the process of what happens:

1)  You get a verification email.  This usually goes out fairly quickly, but i'd give it up to 1/2 a day to wend its way thru' the tubes that make up the internet.  If you haven't received it after 12 hours, email the lead admin so we can look into it: forum@crabbymedia.org

2)  You'll need to follow the link in the verification email within 72 hours (3 days), or the verification expires and you'll need to re-register.  The verification process is to prove that you're a monkey who at least knows how to use a keyboard and mouse.

3)  After you've followed your verification link, one of the admins here needs to finish activation of your account.  This should happen within 36 hours, depending upon whether the admins are in town or on vacation or something.  Once your account has been activated, you'll get another email from the forum.  If it's been several days -- let's say 4 days or longer -- and you still haven't received your final activation email, please email the lead admin so we can look into it: forum@crabbymedia.org

ETA:  Oh, YAY!  I've just set the "Please tell us your reason(s) for registering at our forum" box to 0 characters.  I'd rather have just turned it OFF, but that (rather stupidly) isn't an each checkbox in the admin panel.  So altho' the registration page says that a reason is required, it's not, really, and you'll find that there's actually no room in the box to type because, hey!, 0 characters!
